Aurora Primary Care's ad ran in the program book for this year's Rockville Chamber Women's Leadership Conference, and Dr. Mudita Malhotra joined in person for the morning, alongside Chamber President & CEO Marji Graf and Rockville Mayor Monique Ashton, who opened the day around this year's theme: "Women as Community Builders."
Graf's framing stuck with us: "Community builders don't wait to be chosen. They choose themselves." Mayor Ashton picked up the same thread from a different angle, reminding the room that "we don't just build businesses — women build communities, create jobs, mentor others, volunteer, serve on boards, and open doors for the women coming behind them."
It's a fitting theme for a room that included Dr. Malhotra, who built Aurora from the ground up as an independent direct primary care practice in Rockville. Community building isn't a tagline here — it's been the actual plan since day one, and mornings like this one are part of it.
